Terms of use

Plain English, because this is a free student project and not a commercial service. Using the site means you accept what follows.

This is not an official QU service

QU Student Assistant is an independent project built by a student. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or operated by Qatar University. Nothing here is an official university communication, and no answer from it constitutes academic advice.

Banner and the Registrar are the authority

Every figure this site shows is informational. Deadlines, prerequisites, seat counts, GPA calculations, degree progress and schedules must be confirmed in Banner or with the relevant QU office before you act on them, particularly anything that affects registration, graduation or fees.

Two limits are worth stating outright. Prerequisite satisfaction is never checked: QU does not publish prerequisites in a form that can be evaluated, so the tools show what QU lists and leave the judgement to Banner. And elective and package requirements often cannot be verified, because nothing published says which specific course fills a given elective slot. Where that is true, the tool says so on screen.

Your own data is your responsibility

Courses, grades and credits you enter or import are self-reported. The GPA calculator and degree audit compute from what you give them; if the input is wrong, the output will be too. Nothing here is an official transcript or an official degree evaluation.

Acceptable use

  • Don’t try to break, overload or scrape the service. Rate limits exist and are enforced per IP.
  • Don’t use it to impersonate Qatar University or to present its output as official university communication.
  • Don’t upload documents that aren’t yours.

No warranty

The service is provided as-is, with no warranty of any kind. It may be unavailable, out of date, or wrong. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author accepts no liability for any loss arising from its use, including missed deadlines, registration problems, or decisions made on the basis of an answer it gave.

Content and changes

Information drawn from Qatar University’s pages remains QU’s. The software itself is the author’s own work and is published openly. These terms may change as the project does; the date at the top of this page reflects the last revision.
